Security professionals are now concerned about potential damage to their organisation’s reputation, a global study by Frost & Sullivan has found.
According to the study, which was commissioned by non-profit security training organistion (ISC) ², almost three quarters of security pros now rate damage to their organisation’s reputation a “top priority”.
"Information security has become a business imperative for organisations of all sizes, with far-reaching concerns such as corporate reputation, the privacy of customer data, identity theft, and breach of laws and regulations driving information security governance," said Rob Ayoub, Frost & Sullivan industry manager, network security.
Also of note was the finding that the upper echelons of management are increasingly concerned about information security:49% of respondents report on the subject of security to executive management or the board of directors.
