SurveyWatch: USA the number 1 phisher

RSA's Online Fraud Intelligence Report finds that December saw the USA become the world's worst 'phisher'.

The Caribbean nation of Belize retained its disproportionately high ranking of the world's third-highest as an originator of phishing attacks, but the USA has surged as a source of phishing attacks to become the runaway leader in the field according to RSA's Monthly Online Fraud Intelligence Report for December.

The report says that the USA typically accounted for 60% of phishing attacks, until December when it hit 75%. There was also an increase in phishing overall, with a record 205 financial institutions attacked in December.

Australia has dropped out of the report's data, and is no longer a top ten source of attacks or top eight victim.
